I’ve had a tough week at work this week. Various different deadlines, training commitments and tense conversations left me a little deflated this afternoon.
Tonight, I get home, Husband hands me a parcel which I absentmindedly open, thinking it’s my BFF’s birthday present, only to discover I’m holding a brand new Nexus 4.
Oh. My. GOD!
I’ve been a loyal HTC faithful for the past couple of years, going from a Hero to a Sensation and I unashamedly love them, and Android. But I got a Nexus 7 for my birthday last year (which I named Harrison) and have loved using Google Now and vanilla Jelly Bean, so I had vague plans of getting a Nexus 4 when my contract runs out next year.
Imagine my joy at having the Nexus 4 now! I do have guilt about my lovely HTC Sensation – I still think it’s a beautiful phone (and do have to keep on using it for a couple of days because my GIANT sim card doesn’t fit in the Nexus). But there is something so satisfying about using vanilla Jelly Bean. IT’S SO SHINY! And the Widgets – oh the delicious widgets. I can tell I’m going to have a lot of fun with this phone.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to customise the hell out of my phone. I think I’ll call him Rutger.
