New York

New York is one of those irresistible iconic places.  It can be overwhelming, tiring, and at times, downright frustrating but there’s something about it that I can never say no to.

I’ve visited a few times now, and we always find something new to do.

December 2018
We managed to pick up some great flights in the 2018 Black Friday sale, so made a very quick visit to our favourite neighbourhood – Chelsea.

July 2017
Hot.  July is hot.  But we powered through and did many things like eat NY Pizza, eat NY doughnuts, and eat NY avocado toast.  It was 4th July, so we were able to see the epic Macy’s fireworks, and we took our first trip out to Brooklyn.  And we saw John Oliver! Such a great trip.

February 2017
I had a two day solo trip on the way back from a work conference where I shopped like a maniac.  I also got to see the taping of Samantha Bee’s show which was phenomenal.

January 2015
Our last minute visit turned a bit odd as a Snowmageddon 2015 swept in (it has it’s own Wikipedia page!) which gave an interesting edge to our trip. Still had an amazing time though.

March 2014
My first trip to NYC featured rain, La Boheme at the Met Opera, and an insane Off Broadway musical which had me crying with laughter.

Day one – So many smells
Day two – Accidental half marathon
Day three – Wet Don Draper
Day Four – Selfie Sunday
Day Five – Blue skies, just not where it counts
