untold blisses

Back in the good old days when LJ was a thriving community, I used to love doing these kinds of posts – where you get tagged by a friend and there’s a bunch of random questions.  Jaina at Time Well Spent has done a bit of tagging with the Sushine Award, so I thought I’d have a go myself.

1. Favourite Actor? (Who’s not a household name)

I’m a very fickle person when it comes to actors and tend to like most of them because they’re pretty (see: most of the cast of True Blood), but objectively, I’ll go with Alexis Denisof.  As an Angel fan girl, I saw him transform Wesley’s character into something so dark and unrecognisable – it was truly astounding.  He’s hilarious as Sandy Rivers in How I Met Your Mother, playing the complete opposite of Wesley.  I also saw him in Arthur Miller’s All My Sons in Liverpool a couple of years ago and  wow.  I remember leaving the theatre utterly emotionally broken.  I haven’t see Much Ado About Nothing as yet because it wasn’t showing anywhere near me, but I think Alexis’s star is only going to rise.  I’ve also heard that he might be something important in the Avengers 2 (not being a comic book fan, I have no idea, but someone has told me he is…)

2. Favourite Food?

It’s very boring, but pasta.  I’m obsessed with just chucking pesto over some fusilli at the moment.  Yum.

3. Favourite Non-Alcoholic Drink?

I don’t actually drink alcohol at all, so all of my favourite drinks are non-alcoholic!  I love Shirley Temples – I had my first one in America about 7 years ago and got hooked.  I haven’t been able to make them as tasty as the American ones, but they were still pretty yummy.  I like how the Wiki page for it says “they’re often sold to children” – HA!  I’m also a fan of SodaStream cherry mix.

4. Favorite Animal?

Dogs!  My parents have always had dogs – they started with one before I was born, and I think they’ve had 10 dogs in total over the last thirty years.  At the moment, they have four – Saffy, Mollie, Roman and Skye.  Roman is hilarious – he has such a sense of humour.  Saffy is a bit of a worrier and is obsessed with getting everyone in one place.  Mollie’s nickname is “fun police” – she really doesn’t approve of others having fun without her.  And Skye… well, Skye is a bit precious.

5. Favorite Number?

4.  It’s a long story, but 4 is my family’s lucky number.  There’s a lot in all of our lives that revolve around this number.

6. Favorite Color?

Purple!  I am Marie from Breaking Bad.  Without the kleptomania.

7. My Passion?

Reading.  I’m keeping track of how many books I’ve read this year using Good Reads and I’m averaging about 6 a month.  It doesn’t sound like a lot – I thought I’d have more than that.  I read every lunchtime at work and for about 45 minutes before bed.  I also really taking photos and have done Project 365 for the past four years.

8. Favorite Day of the Week?

I’ve always loved Thursdays.  Everything seems to go right on Thursdays, and we’re only one day away from the weekend.  Yes, technically Friday is closer to the weekend, but there’s always an expectation with a Friday (this is all insane ramblings now).

9. Favorite Flower?

I love gerbera daisies – they’re so happy!  I also love dark purple calla lilies, so dark they’re almost black.  I had them in my wedding bouquet, and I have four tattooed on my foot.  So pretty.

10. Favorite Soundtrack from 2013?

I’m not really a soundtrack person, but I really love Mogwai’s work on Les Revenants, so much so that I’m thinking about buying it.

This is the part where I’m supposed to tag 10 other people, but I was never very good at that back on LJ, so I’ll leave it open.  My blog is still kinda new so I don’t think I could rustle up 10 people anyways!
